Mike has a diverse range of skills developed over nearly 30 years.

Originally a mechanic, working on agricultural and earthmoving machinery and later as a fitter/welder.

In 1994/95 Mike attended Wellington polytechnic and studied vehicle restoration.

Mike has been involved in the classic car and hot rod scene since 1980. He is a founding member of Te Awamutu Rod and Custom Club Inc of which he is still a member. His 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air earned him the “Most Promising Show Rodder” award at the 1995 NZHRA National Show.
